The City of Columbia offers Accommodations and Hospitality Tax Grants to eligible organizations for projects/events that promote tourism.
Accommodations Tax Grant
Applicants seeking funding for FY 24/25: (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025) Grant application cycle will begin April 1, 2024. Completed applications must be submitted by mailed and post-marked Friday, April 26, 2024. Late/incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications that are received on time and deemed eligible will be considered for grant awards.
Hospitality Tax Grant
The City of Columbia will start accepting applications for Hospitality Tax Grant Funding for the 2024/2025 Fiscal Year (July 1, 2022– June 30, 2023) on Friday, March 1, 2024. The applications process will close on Friday, March 29, 2024.
The Hospitality Tax Grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations and their projects/events whose mission is to attract tourists by promoting dining in the City of Columbia. To be eligible, your organization must be a nonprofit with documentation from the South Carolina Secretary of State’s Office, and conduct activities in the City of Columbia.
Late/incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications that are received on time and deemed eligible will be considered for grant awards.

Community Promotions Grant:
Upon availability, General Fund dollars, via this grant, provide financial support to non-profit or charitable organizations within the City of Columbia. Applications for Community Promotions Grants will be available once funds (if any) are allocated after fiscal year-end. There is no funding available for Community Promotions Grants at this time. Once funding is determined to be available, a Notice of Funds Availability (NOFA), will be posted here on the City’s website. The process for applying for a grant will be outlined in the NOFA.
